Can I use old handmade clay bricks from my garden wall for a garden path? Obviously being handmade, there are a few different thicknesses (as well we widths and lengths)
I can't find a definitive answer anywhere. I was thinking of using them instead of buying in concrete pavers as it would match the remaining walls and save me having to move/store them.
I thought as they had been exposed to the elements for 120 years they would likely be okay. But perhaps the added element of have kids riding bikes on them etc. it might be pushing it.
If people think these suitable, I am not sure what to lay them on, would the following be okay?
I would want them frog down rather than on edge.
75mm Type 1 MOT
6:1 dry mix screed bed
Thoughts would be appreciated. Many thanks.
