Hi Tony,

I'm new to the site and am preparing to lay a car parking area in front of my garage in a Bogun arc. I would like to know the dimensions of the arc, in particular the overall length and the distance between the line joining the two ends of the template and the outside of the arc in the middle. It looks like being 3/4 inch ply on 4x2 inch blocks but not sure how big it is. Hope you can help and thank you.
Great site by the way.

Bogens, with an 'e', are set-out to suit the setts being used and the width of the pavement being laid. There is no single standard size for the arc, although there are common sizes.

As designing bogen layouts is part of how I earn a crust, I can sell you a bespoke template drawing, or you can attempt to adapt the basic example given on the main website.

Hi Tony,

The width of the area to have sttes laid is 5.8metres wide. How much do you charge for the template? I will be using 100x100x100mm recycled granite setts. Thank you.

Hi Tony, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Is it because you can't create a slightly staggered joint if all the setts are the same size or that it won't look right? What do you think are my options with these setts? Will any pattern suit the setts that I have?

Tony, if the setts that I have waiting for delivery can't be used to create a patterned driveway, please can you suggest a supplier of setts that I can use in a bogen pattern? Thank you.

I'll PM about the cost of a template drawing, but it's not shocking, certainly less than you will have paid for a tonne of setts.

But before I do that, it would be better to see just what you have, so that, (a) I can determine whether a bogen layout is possible, and (b) if it is, at what sort of scale.

So: got any photies? Email 'em if it's easier for you...........
