Hi ive had a look at your calculators on the site and they are really helpfull but i was wondering if you could actually explain how to work out the sums on paper ie for dtp1, sand and also different size blocks please?.

I guess its LxWxThickness? I just want to get it right!

Thanks.

well lets say your drive is 10 m by 5 m
that means you have 50m2
then you need 100mm of type 1
so you times 50 by .1m = 5 cubic metres
which is then multiplied by 2 to find the tonnage
50 by.1 by2 = 10m3 of type 1
same with the sand but its a different calculator
hope this helps
LLL :)
