I just had a contractor in to quote for completing the job that I wrote about in my previous posting "letter of complaint".

This contractor tells me that he uses 65mm clay pavers for his jobs, and that I will have to sell on the 750 or so clay pavers I have from the halted job.

pavingexpert.com says 50mm are fine for a residential drive.

I guess he is aiming to do the best possible job. But is it overkill ?

Any comments ?

He may feel 65mm are the only suitable pavers. Everyone has their own reputation to look after, and i guess he just wont want to do a "sub standard" job in his opinion. Ask him for a detailed reason why he uses 65mm's

I used 50mm clay pavers 6 years ago.

Still look good after driving 2 cars over them
