My letter of complaint was posted off, and the company in question has responded asking me for more money, claiming that his job has been independently inspected and is of sound quality.

He states that we didn't give him a chance to recitfy the faults. We did try, but as I said before, he never answered his phone and rarely turned up on site.

He stated he will take us to court to recover another £1600 from myself and my neighbour.

Trading standards tell me I will have to get an independant survey of the work done so far (I have rectified the fencing myself, but have photo and video evidedence of that).

Any suggestions where to go for an independent survey ?

Then I guess we all end up in court. Ho hum !

Just a thought.

There is the option of letting him continue, according to the original verbal contract. But subject to independent quality checks of the re-work (basically starting again from excavation and scalpings).

It would be nice to get a written timescale as well
