Hello gurus! First, let me say, I love this site! It was incredibly helpful to my husband and I while we worked on our first brick paver project (a fancy new walkway). Our project for next season is going to be a brick paved patio, but our dilemma is that we have a bay doorwall. We are not thrilled with the idea of laying the patio and then placing concrete steps which would leave a void between the steps and the house under the bay portion. Someone else here in the states posted pictures of his raised brick patio, which came up to meet the doorwall under the bay portion of the house. Looks fantastic, but that is beyond our capabilities and I'm afraid of structural damage to the door frame once the house settles a little more. Does anyone have any suggestions?
