Hi all
I've had my front garden dug out and stoned up in preporation of having it tarmaced.
It's a very long story but the determining factor was cost - so in the end I thought it would be cheaper to tarmac.
I'm now in two minds again and wondered if I could still go down the block paving route?
basically I had the level set to allow for approx 75mm of tarmac (50mm base course and 25mm wearing course).
Obviously the block paving would require (tell me if I'm wrong) 40mm of bedding sand + the 50mm (or even 60mm) height of the block - so I'm about 25mm+ too high?
I can't get the stone removed and dig out more of the area.
If I go ahead with the block paving, the paving will be approx 25mm higher than neighbouring land and also the front of the drive where it meets a tarmac path.
Any ideas or have I gone too far down the road of tarmac?
Cheers
Wayne
