My rumbled block drive and turning area, 200 M2, is now over six years old and has lasted well. Only problem is some minor weed infestation and moss around the edges and up the centre where the cars do not run. There has been no sealer coat or joint stabiliser ever applied.
I am now starting to do a complete overhaul. I am not keen on power washing or sealants, so I am raking out the moss and dirt from the top of the joints by hand! Not too difficult if you break it down into digestible sections and do not try to complete the job in one weekend! The vast majority of the joints only need raked down to the chamfer and is basically a single stroke with a sharp metal tool.
I will now resand the joints and apply a joint stabiliser, Marshalls Keybond I think. I also want to apply a Sodium Chlorate weedkiller as an additional preventer, but I am not sure of the sequence for this. Now before I resand the joints, after the sand and before the stabiliser, or at the end after the stabiliser has dried.
Any advice or comments would be most appreciated.
