I finished my drive last year and it looks ok. However, I have noticed with increasing dismay that ants appear to mining in the jointing sand - looks a right mess. Firstly how do I stop them ? I have no idea where the mian nest is and I don't relish lifting the blocks to find out. There was no evidence of their presence when I was doing the drive. Additionally, do they stay in the jointing sand or are the little rascals likely to be mining in the sand course underneath the bricks ?

I read on the main site that using Resiblock will help by binding the jointing sand. I did coat the drive last Autumn using Thompsons' Block Paving Seal. And if I did would it kill the ones already there ?

You could try a garden ant killer like Nippon. You need the spray type at this time of year as they are no longer feeding.

Then, when you have got rid, seal the jounts.
