I have built a 4 foot retaining wall (locking blocks) and was wondering what I should use for fill in behind the wall so it will be stable enough to lay pavers above. I was wondering if I could fill the area will road crush and compact (base) for the whole 4 feet or of I must use earth. Thanks ??? ???

Think about it...

Whatever you put in there must not subside, neither must it have cavities for the top layer to wash down in to.
