hi tony and all ,i am in the process of choosing cobble effect block paving, i was umming and RR-ing in wether to buy 60mm or save a few bob and go for the 50mm,does the 50mm paving look as good as the 60mm paving when laid ,or do you get what you pay for and the 60mm does look distinctively better? i am on a budget but if the 60mm does look better ,i would rather pay that bit xtra and get a better finish.
also i have been quoted on plaspave block paving, are these a known make? have you heard of these? much appreciate your response. many thanx. from tony

You'd probably never know what blocks were laid from a visual point of view, as 50s and 60s usually look identical when laid. There are one or two brands where the 50s have a slightly different colouring to the 60s, but you normally need eyes like a shithouse rat to spot it.

Plaspave have really upped their game over recent years. In the 80s and 90s they were a byword for crap, and PFA-riddled crap at that, but the blocks coming out of the Knottingley plant in Yorkcestershire are not too bad at all,and the tumbled block (whose name escapes me at the mo') is as good as any on the market in that part of the world.

Have you had a quaote for 50s and 60s? There's not usually much of a price diff between the two if you buy from one of the larger manufacturers.
