What about ye fellas how's the form. in typical monday morning fashion I've left the yard minus half the kit I need for the day. I've got to do some sample panels of exposed agg concrete for the client and Have forgotten my surface retardant. Did I read somewhere on here that sugary water is a good substitute. cheers

I think it's 250g of sugar per litre of water, then 250ml per m² sprayed onto the fresh concrete.

Sharp as ever Tony thanks how's yourself. Sunny Belfast has been decidedly moist recently but getting by rightly. I'd cut my arm off for a decent paver though I'm trying to get away from the tools again after a double hernia . I've also forgot my lunch ffs.

Pablo, I'll be down at that house on circular rd west in Cultra this week clearing the orchard and you'll no doubt be intrigued what happened to the 'Lawn'.

Ellison won the job and took out about 60t and brought back in 120. They seeded and all seemed ok until the client came back 2 weeks later from holiday and although grass was showing fine it was full of broken glass.

Client told them to sort it out so they removed it and started again, still broken glass although less but client understandably wanted none. Their reply was ''but you can't get topsoil without some glass in it.''

They then tried laying terram and topsoil over the top and it all turned into a mess and is now stripped off waiting for spring when they will try again 3rd time lucky. What a nightmare.
This was the clients side of the story only obviously.

Ach ffs that womans a bloody nightmare. They priced way lower than me and I was asked to match it which I couldn't. She then got me round after they'd fallen out and we'd agreed a price to sort it all but it was october so couldn't be done before the spring. I wasn't aware it had been stripped again and that they were re doing it which now leaves an unexpected hole in my diary . The soil was full of glass and I'm speechless about the membrane thing (it was that black stringy woven stuff not terram). The soil wasn't compacted when it was levelled so it turned to slush and the fines had clogged the fabric so the water wasn't getting away and the seed was hand sown and very patchy. You're welcome to it but she'd also asked me to do the orchard which I'd scheduled for next month when I do a few others (They heal better if you cut them just before the sap starts rising). She's about to recieve an invoice for 4 site visits and half a days work prepping quotes. ARRRGh
