Best sand to use between pavers

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

Hi guys, i would like to know, which type of sand is best to use between pavers? I want something that will make the pavers solid and prevent moisture from getting under the pavers.I've heard fine sand washes out easily so it might not be the best option. Any suggestions?

Are you talking about block paving or flags/ slabs of some sort?

If the joints are less than 5mm kiln dired sand is your only choice.

There are products such as marshalls keybond which partly help stabilise the sand but really sand washing out is only a problem on steep sloping drives.

It's that "expert" again! Are experts allowed to not know this sort of thing? I'm feeling threatened! :(
