Tony,
I've just recently completed a block paved path in a front garden which all went great until the end!!
Having laid all the blocks and brushed the kiln dried sand in, we began compaction of the blocks. However, the plate compactor began to play up to the extent that some of the blocks only had one pass of the compactor before we had to accept defeat and just top the joints up again with kiln dried sand.
Do you envisage this presenting any problem in the future, bearing in mind path will only be subjected to pedestrian use(sub base was well compacted type 1).
I don't really want to hire another compactor for the day if I don't need to as the address is some way from where I live.
If I did need to compact again due to differential settlement, is there any limit on the time after the job was completed or can this be done at any time in the future. Everything is nice and level at the moment.

Regards
Gary

If it's had one pass of the plate, it might just be OK. I wouldn't worry about it for now, but see how it performs over the next few months, and, if there are any 'high' blocks, they can be persuaded down with a mallet or a lump hammer and block of wood as a 'cushion'.
