Hi All,
Please to meet you, as they say.
Just signed up for some advice, hopefully :)

I am going to sell my house but due to the current market I have to do some remedial work first.
My problem is that I have a small drive 7 mtrs wide by 5 mtrs deep, which is a bit shabby. I was thinking of block paving it. The problem is that it falls 450mm in the 5mtrs, from the front door of the house to the pavement. I also have a bay window which protudes into the fall by 1.6 mtrs.

Could I put the fall in at a level pane, ie a straight line from the pavement to the front door, letting the bay blend in? I was wondering if this fall is too steep for parking or walking on, particularly in the winter.

450mm in 5 metres is 1:11, which is close to the maximum recommended gradient for diasabled access (1:12 for 5 metre runs), so it would be OK, just about.
