What a Brilliant site....Apologies if this type of question has been posted previously, I am currently in the process of having a Block Paving driveway installed (65 sq/m), I want to seal this as Im kind of paranoid about stains etc and also the insect problem (which I have seen a few posts on here regarding this problem), My question is, are there any companies in the West of Scotland (Ayrshire) that would do this or is this relatively easy to apply for the complete novice.

I have read that you can use roller, brush or watering can although Im not sure which is the best method, (would this depend on which product you purchased) I have also read that your not supposed to seal for the first Three Months due to the salts in the blocks, is this true?, again I would welcome any advice, I assume its your Donald duck while parking on your driveway before its been sealed in the first 3 months...any advice or help would be appreciated or anyone else who is thinking of this..

Many thanks
Neil

Some paving contractors will apply a sealant for you, but it's not all that difficult a task and well within the capabilities of most DIYers.

Best too to use depends on the user, rather than the product - what suits you best? Professional contractors often use either a low-pressure spray or a squeegee, as these minimise wastage.

And yes: it is true that you shouldn't apply a sealant for at least three months. If it wasn't true, I wouldn't have written it, would I??
