Can anyone advise how much concrete, sharp sand and hard core would i need to lay roughly 25 sq metres concrete in a typical domestic garden for a base that will be dug out to 5/6 inch depth and shuttered so that the surface is about 4 inches proud above ground level...

I suggested in my spec it would involve digging out and placing hardcore and sand then the concrete including a damproof membrane and some wire mesh for strength with two brick-height facings in old stocks

- I have been quoted about £2500, does that seem about right? It seems a tad high to me but I have no experience to base it on. I would have thought a 3 man team could clear, excavate and level the site in a day ready to start the laying down....any ideas?

Try reading the main website, particularly the section dealing with Concrete Hardstandings, which includes a calculator to work out how much of what is needed.
