I am laying pavers (2.375 thick) for a drive soon. Most installation instructions say to lay 1 to 1.5 inch of sand prior to setting the pavers. I have now heard that the landscape industry is now using AG Lime instead of sand. Is this a good idea? Benefits? Problems?

Thank you so much.

Sorry, but I can't comment on what's happening in the landscape industry in your country. We do have a couple of US-based contractors that pop into The Brew Cabin occasionally, and they might be able to help when they get here, but, as it says at the top of the page, we're primarily concerned with paving techniques in Britain and Ireland.
