Hi there. What's the maximum weight that new block paving can take? I'm scared to death that a new driveway (shared with neighbour) will shift with heavy vehicles. For example, I need flagging and sand delivered for a new patio and typically I guess the suppliers would bring it on a 12.5 tonne waggon.
Any thoughts?

it all comes down to the subbase & block, typically a 100mm mot/25mm sand / 60mm block driveway could not take over 10 tonnes without some unpleasantness occurring however that said we once did a driveway and the guy had a 36 tonne truck drive on and off many times and it left no signs of any type of movement, although the mot was 150mm on that one.

The typical driveway spec will cope with cars, vans, 4x4s and anything up to around 3.5 Tonnes. Beyond that, the paving may well survive, but you can't be sure that buried services such as gas pipes and drains would be safe.
12.5 Tonnes is carriageway loading, so you'd need the sort of construction we normally use for cul-de-sacs, access lanes, town centres, car parks and the like.
