We are increasing an existing concrete driveway and we have to use gravel because we are at our maximum impermeability on the lot.

I'm worried about potholes forming in the gravel at the transition point.

Would it make sense to use a geogrid of some sort at the transition point to keep the gravel from shifting? The only concern I have is that it will be visible in no time as the gravel settles. I really don't want to see it.

If anyone out there knows of a product that might work I would be extremely grateful.

Thank you so much.

Why not extend the existing concrete driveway with concrete and install appropriate soakaway etc?

A cell system will prevent potholes but you'll probably need to top-up now and again for the first 12 months as it settles in.

Alternatively, you might want to consider a permeable concrete or even permeable block paving as a more durable option.
