Hello .
This is my first post on this forum, since part is about Block Paving and the rest about the drainage of the paving I will spit this across the two forum.
First I would just like to say what a great site Pavingexpert is. I have over the past few months studied a number of the many pages on the site. Well done.
Now to my question.
1. I have started a project at home to build a new paved area around our house. This will take me until the summer I expect. Our farmhouse is a detached square house with a number of extensions added. The patio area will run out from the house about 30ft and along the house about 50-60ft. The paved area will also run around the rest of the house running out 8 - 10 ft from each of the other three sides.
If I run the paving to be 2 courses down from damp so therefore level all around the house, and a fall of 1- 80 away from each of the 4 sides of the house. What happens when I get to the 45deg line at each corner of the house? I will have the paving bricks trying to fall in two directions?
2. The foundations of the patio are made up of 12 – 18 on broken up concrete. Do I still need to use 4 of type 1 under the sand bed? Or can this be reduced the main patio works out as about 20 sq m of type 1.
thats the end of part 1 I will post the rest on the drainage forum
Kevin.
