personally speaking no. But if you are worrried, and old piece of carpet clamped to the wacker with ratchet straps will work just as well! If anything, it helps to reduce the noise :;):

Don't fret about the neoprene sole - 99.9% of contractors don't!

I have a neoprene sole for my Belle Wacker Plate.
I only use it for certain types of pavoir. Marshalls Driveline Excel and Elite are examples - has anyone tried a normal plate on these pavoirs - what a mess it makes.
On most other types - Driveline 50, or Rumbled/Antique I just use the normal plate.
Isnt it funny how we all call them Wacker Plates when there is only 1 real Wacker - the rest are made by different manufacturers but called Wacker !!
Any one else got any other other tools etc called by the manufacturers name
ie Stihl Saw
Stanley Knife
Nigel
ps A happy new year to you all.
I cant wait to get back to work on Tuesday I am bored s***less !!!!

I try to make sure I don't call 'em Wacker plates, but writing out "vibrating plate compactor" every time is hard work.
Even better is when they get called 'Whacker Plate' - some contractors and members of the public genuinely believe they were given that name because they 'whack down' the blocks!
Other 'generic' names - I grew up referring to asphalt paving machines as 'Barber Greens', because that's what my Dad used, but the classic has to be JCB - every wheeled excavator is a JCB to some people!
