Hi me again!

Forgot to ask last time, I'm wondering what's the best way to tackle the sand bed. My current thinking is to have the 4 ton of sand delivered in jumbo bags and then spread, wack and screed managable areas of sand in sections.

I would then lay the blocks over this area before doing the same again on the next bit of sub base, rather than spread the whole 4 ton, wack it and then screed managable areas for laying.

My concern arises from the uncertainty over the weather in the next week or so, as I thought it would be better to protect the sand bed until I was ready to start laying the blocks.

Hope this makes sense

I can't see any problem with your plan. If the sand is being delivered in Big Bags, then bear in mind that each 'tonne' only covers around 10m² or so and even working on your own, you should be able to pave over that area in less than a couple of hours.

Thanks again Tony.

Planning to start the job of laying the sub-base on Monday and hopefully getting the job finished next week....weather permitting..!!!

Great site by the way, it really does help having an expert to ask really naff questions to!!

Cheers
