Hello again.
My problem this time is, how do you haunch a kerb edging adjoining a public pavement, as when you put the edging in place, the bit to haunch disappears as the edging is flush to the pavement. Is it a case of excavating a haunce-shaped hole under the pavement, filling it with concrete, pressing the edging up to it and crossing your fingers?

The answer is that you don't - never, ever interfere with a public footpath unless you are authorised by the Local Authority.

Rely on the bedding and a token haunch on t'other side of the edging to hold everything in place. Does that make sense?

It's less than ideal, I know, but it's better than being faced with a bill for x hundred quid while a gang of DLO lads sit outside your gaff all day, drinking tea and wasting an hour to repair a collapsed section of footpath!

Our crew consists of :- Forewoman, cheif worker, brains and whipcracker - Eileen, 54 years old, ably assisted by David, 69 year old husband, Brother in law Brian, 69, Neighbours Pam and Barry, 68 and 73 and catering assistant Mary.
