hi i was asked this question tonight and am wondering if you guys and gals could help me

some one wants to place slabs randomly in a garden and are wondering if theres a program or peice of software or even a good technic with a peice of paper and pen that they can use to place these slabs randomly in a garden, with no slabs forming lines

the graden dimensions are 15meters by 5

there are three diff slabs with an equal mixture of all slabs to be placed in the garden

1st 300mm by 450mm
2nd 450mm by 450mm
3rd 450mm by 600mm

they have one program that sorts them randomly but its only for slabs 2m by 2m no smaller

can any one help ?

There is no such program. There are 'nearly' programs, but most tend to repeat patterns, rather like a rubber stamp, rather than develop authentic random layouts.

If you use the Search tool, or check the archive, you'll find several previous discussions on this topic.

There's also a page devoted to random pattern development on the main website. I create bespoke random layouts that are unique to each project and truly random but I'm not prepared to reveal exactly how I'm able to do it, or the Big Boys in the paving manufacturing business will simply nick my work. :(
