Hi all

I'm looking into laying a driveway but have some concerns regarding an ajoing property.

I live in a semi-detached, the property on my detached side was built at a different time to my house and is slightly lower. a small wall separates us, their land is approximately 150mm lower on their side of the wall.

I will need to replace the existing wall when I come to laying the sub base (it's already leaning and threatening to fall due to the height/weight difference from my side). Do I need to make any special preperations for this and the additional pressure that the new wall will be under during the compacting of the sub base and daily weight of a car?

Cheers

150mm?? Is that all? Sod the wall - use a kerb. It's a fraction of the cost to construct and a damned sight quicker, too!

If you go with the block paving, choose a "Boot Kerb" or "High Kerb" that will give you anywhere from 50-175mm of upstand.
