Hi, I have recently agreed for our building contractor to get the driveway to some houses that I am developing block paved for £40 per square metre. Is this a good price or not?? I have since read of it being possible to get done for £20 per square metre, never having done it before I don't know so I was wondering if anyone could advise me as to whether this is ok or not.

Many Thanks

40 quid per square metre is a good price. 20 quid is the sort of price that triggers my highly developed Cowboy Sensing Equipment.

Look at this way - the blocks cost around a tenner per square metre, then you've excavation, stone for the sub-base, bedding sand, jointing sand, vib plate not to mention the labour - all for a tenner? I think not!! :(

Thanks Tony thats all I needed to know. I actually rang a couple of places today and found the going rate was around £50 to £70per sqm so you have just reinforced the fact that I am getting a pretty good deal.

Thanks
