The Brew Cabin

I am thinking about making a sidewalk out of brick pavers in sand. I was wondering if i have to put anything dwon before laying the bricks down in the sand. I was also wondering if the bricks will be alright in the sand. Will they shift, or wash away in the heavy florida rains i get? Will they stay tight in place? I will appreciate any comments. Thanks
