The Brew Cabin

Two months ago I laid a toppave classico drive. Classico bricks have rounded edges which means that the gaps between the blocks varies from 0 to about 10mm. I filled the gaps with classico chippings and finished with kiln dried sand as instructed. Now I want to seal the drive.
The problem I forsee is that by using a roller on the drive to apply resibloc superior, the kiln dried will be picked up on the roller and deposited on the blocks.
Is this likely to be a problem, and if so has anybody any idea how to overcome it. I thought about using a sprayer (not that I have one). Any suggestions?

You could use a sprayer, but, if the paving has been down for a couple of months, the jointing sand should have started to seal itself and no more should be picked up by a roller than would be the case with 'standard' block paving.

Special sprayer units are available from the sealant suppliers, at a price, but they are best suited to contractors who will use them regularly and so recoup the cost, but for one-off uses, a small hand-pumped 1.5 or 2 litre garden sprayer that you can buy for around a fiver does a reasonable job, or so I'm told. It can be cleaned with Xylene after use.

Resiblock 22 is ok to spray on but id advise you to roll on Resiblock Superior as it leaves a glossy finish.spraying it on wont cover it evenly and as it fades over time will show streaks where it has gone on thicker in places.

When rolling on blocks with thicker joints soak the roller in sealant and push the roller into the blocks which will wash the sealant out in front of it it soaking into the sand, let it settle for a mo then blend in.this will reduce sand pick up.Any sand on the surface just rub over with roller,you wont see it when dry!
