I have a curved edge to the driveway with 160mm square blocks. With the radius of curve (around 2m) this leaves a wedge shaped gap up to 10mm wide towards the outside of the bend. The rest of the driveway will be kiln dried sand filled, but would this also be suitable for the soldiers or should I mortar? Honestly the last question from me (this excellent site has answered my other amateur queries)

There's no limit to the number of questions you can ask, you know! If you have questions: ask! That's the whole point of this forum.

Anyway, your soldier edgings - have you read the Block Detailing page? That covers the subject of dealing with edging curves, but, to summarise, wider joints are best cut to fit the curve and reduce joint width, medium joints are best pointed with a decent mortar, preferably coloured to suit the blocks in question, and any joints of 6mm or less can be filled with the standard jointing sand.
