Think we had the worst job today......locating (an eventually repairing) a series of (broken& blocked) pipes below a large paved area.
After 5 hrs of digging/smashing/swearing (and after removing 8m2 plus of established blocks) we found the broken pipe together with stuck jetting nozzle.

I don't want to rip up another single block again. I didn't enjoy it one bit...

Needless to say...I'm happy to be at home, with my feet up and a beer!

......Tommorrow is another day :-)

Tuesday - I was travelling down to London on the train and then spent the afternoon having a nosey at some paving works around St. Pauls and London Bridge, before finding a reasonable alehouse and sampling their wares.

I'd have gladly dug up that paving and repaired the bust pipe: I'd much rather be fit and able and out on site, but someone has to do all this critical research! ;)

Placing the blocks back down wasn't much more fun, I'll tell ya!
You'll never get them down the same again - we laid them nice and snugly etc but still had to do some cuts on the last course :-(

Still, it's all fixed now and the drain is working 100% and NO MUDDY WATER!

PS: Stroke of luck - we needed a slip collar - the three merchants we went to didn't have any - out of sheer frustration we searched the bin at the last one (Thanks Keyline!) and found one mixed up in amongst some others - that was our good luck used up for the week :-)

Tony - If only I'd known you would be near St. Pauls on Tuesday I would gladly have met up and brought you a pint. I work within 2 minutes of St. Pauls. Maybe next time.

I only found out while I was on the train that I would be anywhere near St Paul's - a friend of a friend called me to suggest I take a look at some fan setts that have been laid near that bit of a church they have there while I was in town and had a couple of hours to kill. From there, we walked across that Minnellium Bridge to look at some iffy resin-bonded surfacing near that old Lecky-Works-cum-Art-Gallery, and we sort of ambled eastwards past that ramshackle old theatre (bit of a dive when you compare it to a posh building, like the Parr Hall in Warrington!), and we eventually washed up at an alehouse at the side of the river next to where some clown had run a boat aground!

Next time I'm on a cultural mission, I'll let you know! :)
