I'm laying sandstone setts for a garden path and have been tempted by the 2-part epoxy mortars shown elsewhere on this site. I understand they're expensive, but I think they're supposed to be more reliable than 1-part polymeric mortars, and much easier than pointing setts using mortar.

Problem is that they all the epoxy mortars I've loooked at seem to be permeable. I've laid the setts on a standard (4:1) mortar bedding, which I assume is impermeable (?) Does that mean I can't use a permeable epoxy mortar for pointing, since it will degrade over time as water freezes in the joints ?

Sorry if this is a stupid question - or if the answer is elsewhere on this forum - but I have looked, honest !
