Hi folks, it's been a while but been watching BBC 2's coverage of Glastonbury. Some great artists etc but has Glastonbury lost its soul and become far too commercial?

Tops mark to liam Gallaghers dedication.

Any thoughts?

Corbyn should never have been allowed to speak to the crowd.

lets kick politics out of music fests
the strange thing is the folk I know who went are predominantly middle class, middle aged glampers
in my day 25 yrs plus ago it was tunnels and ladders
have to admit quite enjoyed it on the box ,not so much fun back in the 90s with no wash facilities and my mates car getting nicked and found burnt out in salford :(
had some good times there but live it aint about the music,I was busy getting lost every half hour

exactly Sean,each to his own
politicians should be sorting out the country
and musicians should be making music not spouting on politics
and us lot should be laying flags and bricks and pipes

you are probably too young to remember Andres when working men had rights and unions and stuff
new labour has put paid to that and once we are out of the EU the health and safety laws will probably get rewrote for big business to make more money
I am not political as under every government I have lived under the working class gets shafted every time, but I remember the days of time and a half on saturdays and double bubble on sundays and bank holidays and a day in lieu
I dont know the answer but I DO know that whoever gets in will self serve

Not quite. Did shutdown work in the Fawley oil refinery for a while when I was 18. Made 600+ per week if I did the odd long day and A LOT more than that if I worked through the weekend. Proper SHIT work though and not fun climbing up those chimneys... but £3000 per month at 18 20 years ago was good money..

If I knew then what I know now I would have got a small mortgage at the time. I'd be mortgage free by now and laughing.

Don't think it's too commercialised. Still a lot of underground stuff at glasto which never gets covered
