Sub base frost heave

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

Been reading about this on here.

Is it OK to lay and compact the base and after a frost re compact or once thawed it should return to it's previous size? Then lay stone.

Or is laying the base with frosts imminent a no no.

Frosts are so annoying.

Cheers,

John

Aslong as the material you're laying isn't physically frozen it's OK.

Lay it and compact it during the day before the frosts arrive.
