Does anyone know where i can get hold of large pieces of natural rock suitable for a large waterfall and pond feature? Ive had a look at various suppliers that i use and a majority of them just do the stuff that B&Q supply, which is no good for the job i am currently working on, the rock needs to be various sizes and shapes, to help with the effect of keeping this waterfall as natural looking as possible!
I know this isnt the usual sort of place to post a topic regarding this, but as peop[le on here are in a similar trade to me - then perhaps someone knows a local supplier for this kind of product?

Hardrock at Skem would be a good bet, or worrabout Offerton Sand'n'Gravel just down the road from you? Then there's Doreen Earle's quarry at Macc for Kerridge Stone. If it's limestone you're after, then Dove Holes just outside Buxton should be able to help, and for some luvverley chunky slate, have a ride out to Nantlles, Penrhyn and Blaenau in N.Wales.

ive been in touch with offerton sand an gravel and will be havin a butchers this week. However do you have the addresses for the other places you mentioned please?

Not sure about Earle's quarry - I know it's officially known as Sycamore Quarry, and I could take you there, but I'm not sure of the actual address - Kerridge Road, p'raps.
Dove Holes is on the A6 a couple of miles or so before you get into Buxton from the Whaley Bridge end, and the slate quarries at Penrhyn are H-U-G-E. Head for Caernarfon and then turn of the A55 for Bethesda and follow the road into the Llanberis Pass at the foot of Snowdon.

you could also try CED Ltd, the nearest to you is Langley Mill.
You can check out what they have on www.ced.ltd.uk
They have lots of different types of natural stone products including what you describe.Good luck.

If you're going as far as Langley Mill, you amy as well take a look at the stone place at Wingerworth. Not only do they have a quarry they have dozens of machines for cutting and shaping the stone.

well the jobs almost done now, used various suppliers which use mentioned and the job looks top.
