I've just measured up and am calculating now....

No hand rails needed. 1.2 meter width paths is the minimum so will be quoting for that. Can't do asphalt. Never done it. Don't have the kit.

As far as I can see there is no area for material storage. Literally none so this is a problem but I live 50 yards away so I can store some at mine.. Disposal however is a huge issue. It will have to be done by tipper at 1.2 tons per time to the local recycling centre approx 3 miles away.

Land is level.. ish. I can adjust bordering grass areas where needed to allow me to stay at roughly 1:100 falls at all points without creating tripping hazards.

Yeah it's just shy of 150m2 so assuming a depth of excavation of 200mm for something like sub base 150mm and gravel stabilistatioin grids with 20mm shingle at 2 inches that roughly 40+ tons

Slabs would bring it nearer 60 tons unless I went down to 4 inch sub base but soil is clay so not sure I'd want to do that. Could do that if I went gravel in grids of course bringing disposal down to 30+ tons ish but grids are expensive.

Just about to drag myself through document M to fully familiarise myself.

i meant sub in a tarmac gang we do on anything but patching despite being ok at it let the pros do it

muck away can you get hook lifts on the road dropped in the morning picked up in the evening? don't want to be fecking around at 1.2 ton a time

even 2 8 yarders a day is better than that

Yeah I re read what you wrote. It might be an option re the asphalt.

However, finding room for 1 x 8 yard skip or ballast, cement and mixer is impossible. There is one area perhaps but it'd involve moving a small tree and having a pile of crap on a graveyard lol.

They've been in touch and realised the magnitude of the job.

No, oddly enough there is no car park???

The church is flanked by 2 small roads. The smallest of skips would either block of pedestrian walkways and perhaps leave "just" enough road clearance for traffic or flat out block the road.

It's a bugger, it really is. I wouldn't say it's not doable, it's doable, just damn tricky to do without costs going sky high

It's looking like I may get this job.

Damn confounded though as to the logistics of it. I'm leaning towards a path with no edging so that I can at least load truck with spoil, take to dump and load there with scalpings and half the journeys. Something with edging will require 2 trucks which I don't have. Plan is to excavate, level, lay membrane, lay subbase , level and compact and rinse and repeat to a certain stage. Then make up mixes off the truck.

I'm really gonna have to think this through.

It's looking in excess of 20,000 to do it this way but there is no storage....

Dont want to rain on your parade but if its too big walk away, look at the margins and then the risk involved in those margins as you could find yourself bogged down on site for a year

OK, I'm still figuring it out but I think I can deposit spoil at my own address. I'll have to cover the drive with something that the grab truck won't rip up when picking up.

So....

Break job into 4 parts and do each part to completion so money can keep flowing in quicker and minimise amounts of spoil etcetera that needs to be deposited.

I'm thinking of using rumbled blocks of some description for the edges at 15cm width each side.

Line up 1/4 and get levels
disposal of 12-15 tons to my address (need to cover block paved drive- ply sheet battened together??)
Grab truck picks up
Pick up 1 ton of dry mix on the truck
Edge, edge, edge (calculate edging so turns coincide with the finish of pavers i.e no offsetting at the turns)
Whack in 125mm lime stone in 2 layers
Screeded 50mm bed 4:1 bound mortar
Lay Bradstone textured pavers 300x300mm at 3 then 2 and x2 1/2s per row and so on and so forth
Kiln dried sand to finish

Reckon 150 x 100 = £15000 + £1000 for the ? factor x vat = £19200

+20% for unusual logistical complications = £23040
:p

3 guys x 2 trucks x1 digger x1 dumper approx 4 weeks weather dependent
