Picked up a crusher this morning at 7.45. Just got it loaded, and switched off, when an irate neighbour came out in his boxers, asking if we were having a laugh as we woke him up. He reckons we should have waited till 8am. Not seen any rule on this. Guy who hired it apologised, but to no avail. He has said he is going to phone my boss and report me! Still waiting for the phone to ring.
strange that the hirer used it all yesterday, full revs, with no complaints!

you can make noise in your own home or property but legally you cannot work for pay today and make noise,it varies from place to place but luton's environmental health department have advised me (due to a neighbour) that 8-6 mon-friday and 8-12.30 on a saturday is acceptable for workmen making a noise, generally you would get a warning before a fine, I know lads who have been stopped from working on good friday under the threat of a 10K fine to the main contractor

Residential areas are usually 8.00 o'clock before you can make a noise with plant. A one off should be ok but regular noise could get your boss fined. Although I think
The restrictions should be applied for in the building planning stage by residents.
