thoughts go out to the victims of this disaster...

but every couple of years there seems to be a plane crash at an airshow

I am sure they are enjoyable to watch but risk wise are they viable?

this coming from someone who lives directly under luton airports flightpath and I probably have over 200 passenger jets over me every day
btw the house pre dates the airport

Yes, very sad to learn of recent air show tragedy.

Unfortunately I think there will always be risks involved in such events no matter how much caution is used.

Heard it suggested on radio today that future air shows take place over the sea, might not be as good a viewing experience but if it prevents accidents maybe a better alternative.
Cheers

we have been told that lutons new footy stadium cannot be built at jct 10A of the M1 due to planes flying over
what about us residents?
when the my house was built they only had biplanes
I tend to think that the airshow tragedy was one of those million to one shots ,when sadly everything lined up badly for those involved

The aircraft are kept in tip top condition, the pilots are highly experienced. It is a tragic accident but i don't think displays should be banned. Every one of us on a daily basis are at risk from any aircraft coming down, cars, bikes colliding with us, not to mention buses and bin lorries but no one asks for those to be banned. Sadly there are some people out there who go to watch air shows hoping for such things to happen. I bet that the next air shows have record attendees such is the attraction of tragedies by some people, like rubber necking at accident scenes. I am staying at Red Row right near the RAF base Bury St Edmonds and see all the fighter planes going over...awesome!

I tend to concur sean
times up, times up, as my Scottish relatives are fond of saying
an average of 5 people die on the roads every day but no one talks about banning cars....
