I wont be telling my blokes about them
back in the 80s on subby sites there was always a monday club which was basically the weekends drinking rolling on for another day
when the subby asked asked uncle peter why he only ever did 4 days a week
peter replied
"i cannae get by on 3"

its an attitude like that which made this country what it is today
:)

I was a bit to young for the 80's Monday club but it took me until Thursday to get straight after the weekends in the 90's.
A swift one in the pub at dinner is pretty much unthinkable these days.

There's a scaffold firm round here that doesn't do much on a Monday.

Always wondered why until I asked the gaffer........"Blokes are still piddled/stoned out of their heads on a Monday" came the reply

in the 80's we went to the pub EVERY day
unthinkable not to
start at 7.30 breakfast (full english) at 10 and pub from 1-2 (sometimes longer if we got a lock in)
wouldnt happen now
the most we ever do is park early friday and go for a few ,but my local has been shut now ==>2 weeks ago
and I am not keen on the other hostelries nearby (and vice versa)

Monday my wife went in a shoe shop that had scaffolding up, when she came out a bag of fittings crashed down behind her. She noted the top hands had no harness on. Austins scaffolding. Must of been pissed ( and the scaffs lol ). Shook her up because she owned her own scaff company one time and her first husband was crippled when he had a 21 ft tube drop on his head when taking a lift down.
