I have been invited by a long standing client to his son's wedding in august
we have accepted but having never been to a hindu wedding before, I wonder are there any protocols that I should be aware of
dad has probably given us 250k of work in the last 15 years so I need to make it right

any tips gratefully accepted!

Don't dress up as Ganesh and claim that the wedding angers you

I've been to quite a few over the years. They are very long. We made the mistake of getting to one on time. Other people just appeared throughout the day. Also people just talked throughout the service which seemed very rude but nobody batted an eyelid.

Been to a few Sikh ones. They're just the same as normal really, some traditional bits, but everyone's there to have a laugh ,so relax, you'll be fine.

did the wedding today and it was fantastic

no alcohol
no meat
no smoking

everybody had a great time
lot of elephant stuff going on
500 people and 5 europeans

have to say first cup of tea in my life that had about 10 sugars in it and curry flavour

but great to see how different cultures work

good luck to the happy couple

when in rome .....

I wouldn't expect anyone you included to be forced to drink Dan

same with Meat etc

what struck me was that everyone had a great time without the drink or meat

of course I did slip down the pub later for a livener :)

Not knocking you tony, fair play for taking part, just annoys me when we have to play by their rules and they dont play by ours
