great news., the hmrc have sent me a letter saying they are checking my tax return from 2012 a "compliance Check"
They have sent a lettr to my accoutant requesting information.
Not best pleased as even if they find nothing, i will get a bill from the accountant no doubt:(
Anyone else been singled out?

after 6 months of meetings (interrogation) they found an invoice that didn't match up to any jobs we had done and decided that I was on the fiddle and worked out a figure backdated 7 years and wanted me too pay it I refused and didn't pay

^^^ this is what im dreading, if they fine me and backdate it i will be completley unable to pay.
Well as transfers where made between accounts (for pityfull amounts of money may i add) then apparently they can look wherever they choose.
How much did they want you to pay?

wont say how much but they reckoned I was doing 4 average jobs per year and then backdated it 7 years

Is it worth getting the insurance from the accountant though as I have been told the fees from them can be huge too.
Either way we get stung i take it
