I gave a friend of mine the London stone website address under the impression he would get a good deal after all the positive comments on here. He liked the raj blend so I phoned and got a price for 20m2 and it came to £672 Inc vat and delivery to Tewkesbury. I haven't been in the paving game for nearly two years but this price seems high! I left it with him and he phoned me tonight and told me he got another price and the company quoted £420 .
Is £672 high or am I just out of touch!

The trade price for 20m2 of raj green sandstone delivered to Tewkesbury should be £540 inc vat and delivery
M2 price of raj green is £17.58 per m2
Was the quote for exactly 20 m2 and were there any extras included like grout or sealant?
Were you given a written or verbal quotation? also if you pm me the number that you called from i will look into the telephone conversation recordings. Let me know and I will take a look into it because it sounds like someone's cocked up somewhere

bodge all paving has crept up in the last couple of years
FTR london stone is slightly cheaper than my local suppliers for stone,
but IMHO offer a better quality product (25mm thick) and better service
however if I want 4 metres of modak rose I would probably just drive the 4 miles locally and pick it up
the prices on london stones site seem pretty transparent (as opposed to a lot of others)

Cheers for the PM Bodge
I've just listened to the call and our sales guy has made a mistake with the price. Sounds like he has just used a calculator and worked out a price on the spot. Whereas they are supposed to do all quotes on our merchant system, which doesnt allow for mistakes as the rates are all fixed.
Its a stinker of a mistake to be honest and I dont know what he was doing
He priced £20 + VAT for the stone as opposed to retail price of £18.50
He charged delivery price for 3 pallets when only two were required
He also charged you the wrong pallet rate aswell.
Extremely sorry for this. Its a bad day at the office and I will have a chat with him. If its any consolation if you had gone ahead with the order the real price would have been discovered as the order had been processed through the system

how refreshing to see a company that can backtrak and spot the error
Mate rang travis perkins up to get a price on a diamond blade, and was quoted £20
He went to collect it, and they charged him £60. After much arguing, it was his word against theirs.
he closed his account and went elsewhere!

We've put in a lot of infastructure over the past coupe of years. The call recording is of huge benefit. When there are issues, It removes the "he said, she said" element. We simply play back the call and we know exactly what was said
