I was meant to post a few weeks ago on this subject, but time got the better of me !
Mick - Well done on winning the National Award in your category. I was really rooting for you to win the whole thing and drive off in that new Hi Lux. For what its worth, I think you should have got the big prize. A fantastic job.
Also, big congrats on winning a trip to India - when are you going ?

I also attended the Marshalls Register National Finals. I must say that Marshalls put on one hell of a do. Me and the good wife were put up in a wonderful hotel, 3 course meal, FREE BAR !!. It was great to be in the company of quality pavers from all over the UK.
The quality of work on show was awesome and also the enthusiasm and pride that was evident throughout the evening was a joy.

I managed to get Runners Up in my category of Best Driveway Transformation under 70m2. I was delighted to receive my IPAD mini and a natural stone trophy. Just to be there in the company of 20 of the top paving companies in the UK was fantastic.

Well done Mick and well done Marshalls for staging a wonderful event.

BTW. Mick, how is your boyo ? He certainly seemed to enjoy the free bar !!

cheers everyone and well done to you too Nigel

like Nigel said, a fantastic night with the 20 of the best installers nationwide on the Marshalls register, the evening was hosted by David Jessop the Marshall's Register operations manager and assisted by Peter Montgomery the Marshall's national sales manager for the domestic installers along with regional assessors and installer developer managers and many other Marshalls staff including directors too

the standard of workmanship was very high and we was fortunate to be chosen for the final 10 and receive a national award, a ipad 4 and a trip to India to see the manufacturing process of the Marshalls Fairstone paving which is the first week in December accompanied by Chris Frankland the Product Manager at Marshalls

lad did not recall anything the following day which is a good thing ???

You'll enjoy that trip Mick. I imagine you will fly in to Udaiper and then drive down the Bundi highway to Kota. Thats a drive and a half and you will see the sheer scale of the Indian sandstone industry, its mindblowing when you see it for the first time. Keep an eye out for the cows sleeping in the middle lane of the motorway

ive been the first to publicly slate those awards but have to say the workmanship is shit hot. half the battle is finding the clients happy to finance quality work like that. the block paver montage thing is incredible! well done mick... was it metal or plastic? ;)
