has anyone noticed that the excel spreadsheet for costing a patio is wrong the figures just don't add up for example the price per meter when you type in unit cost is wrong and also amount of sand and cement does not seem right.hate to point this out the spread sheet is on this site by the way

I'm sure if you send the Boss the correct formula for the spread sheet he will update it asap. Sites been through some big changes behind the scenes and just surmising here but little things unless flagged up could go amiss.

That spreadsheet in various incarnations has been right for over 25 years, so I can't accept it's just suddenly started to go wrong!
Unit cost and equivalent price per m² - checked and it's correct. Are you overlooking the fact that the input is VAT inclusive while the output is nett?
The quantity of bedding sand is, if anything, generous as it's rounded up (never down) to the nearest tonne. So, if the calculation resulted in a sum of 3.01 tonnes, the sheet would report 4 tonnes. The calculation for cement is based on that generous 'rounded-up' value.
Although I'm no longer contracting or pricing-up, I've used the bones of that spreadsheet since 1986 when I first wrote it in SuperCalc (those were the days!) so I'm reasonably confident that it works.

if you use the calculators for the unit cost and price per square meter it's way different same with sand and cement amounts I mean the calculators page as opposed to the excel sheet
