sounds like your having a bad hair day Dan ?
facebook serves a purpose to some people but not to others, its been in the news this week that there are a billion facebook users so I can't see Mark Zuckerberg getting upset if one person from Prrrreston deletes his account

I still can't get me head around the what the point of it is supposed to be.
If I want to share photies, I send them to the people concerned. Back in the Dark Ages when we had to send away rolls of film to be developed into photies, I'd didn't stick those photies onto the lamppost outside on the styreet for all to see. I showed them to a carefully selected audience. This tendency to post every last sodding detail of your personal life onto one web utility or another just baffles me.
Must be an age thing....

Only use it to stay in contact with friends around the world. Handy when I want a cheap holiday and a couch to crash on

Big fan of facebook for keeping up to date with friends and family. Most friends know the score and it doesn't go all Jeremy Kyle I post all my bike workouts etc and so do others it's a good training tool. I like the I've done a stupid thing status updates and look at the pictures that interest me everything else doesn't receive any attention. I don't know how it makes money though I like most never click on ads.

Well this is the problem with facebook, they still haven't found a way to make money from it which is why their share price is about half of what it once was. Unless they acquire other online websites that actually make money then facebook will be gone in a few years.
Good move by MR Zuckerberg to float the company though.

I believe the real issue was them not realising how many people would be using mobile phones and tablets to access facebook. They haven't got a way to generate revenue from that. That and their stupid IPO price.

Yes I agree Carberry, their IPO was ridiculous but I suppose you can expect that with all the hype and people wanting to own a piece of Facebook just for the sake of it.
There are rumours that Facebook are going to take on Google in search engine game, although even for a giant like Facebook that's going to be an up-hill struggle. Would love to see it happen though, I hate the fact that Google owns the internet.

I'm on facebook, but I've never made a post in my life. I mainly use it to message people who i cant always get in touch with.
I have always called it propaganda book. Its an opportunity for people to present a positive spin on their lives. I prefer to spend my life doing things which are constructive, like posting on the BC at midnight on Sunday :p

I have it. Never post anything. I only add the friends i want. My missus is on it night and day. Cannot see the appeal with triavial things such as "i'm having a pizza" and "isn't xfactor entertaining"
I have the odd frined request from people from school who i was never friends with then, and never will be, especially when they cannot even post a proper picture, and claim they are now an astronaught!
TBH, its mainly there for pictures of the little one for the distant family to see. other than that, its a waste of time
