The opening ceremony spot on. Those rings being forged and then coming together was a fete of engineering. fell asleep watching the parade and missed firework display. Very proud, well done Danny Boyle and everyone involved. Now let's win some medals.

Yes, I thought the same, very good indeed.

Slightly too much going on for the TV cameras to pick up imo

Didn't enjoy the parade, went on too long but thats one of them things.

Was a nice touch to see the "suits" (any proper tradesmen there??) lining the tunnel as the torch came into the stadium.

I did not get the idea behind the NHS theme but it was very well rehearsed and executed, the rest of the opening ceremony was very good and I fell asleep at letter G of the parade and missed the ending

I would have started with giving Phil the Greek a microphone and having every nation parade past him, a representative from each meeting him.

In fact if I was in charge that would have been the whole ceremony.

I got to letter H before dropping off and missing the ending.
Most of the first bit was good though.

What a crock of shite! Just on m25 for an hour because of a few pushbikes. Great for you northerners, rubbish for us who now have road closures on our doorsteps...

On a positive note uk kept our AAA gold international credit rating. Thats good for spending publics confidence, they reckon we are on our way up due to the way government has handled spending

that was danny boyle airing some political views
I have a crusher down in dorking that i cannot collect as all the roads are closed, Shall i send a bill to locog?
I don't like how the comittee have bullied people into things like telling florists on the torch route not to show olympic rings, and telling a cafe owner he cannot be called the olympic cafe.
they tried to tell little chef they couldn't have the olympic breakfast on their menu, but they did not bow down to them!
The ticket fiasco is a joke, telling us all they have sold out, and now loads of empty seats.
i'll be glad when its all over. we will be paying for these games for years
