can anyone give me the calcalation for gravel. ie. how many tons per m2.

18m2 to the ton is not to far away MSH :)

For driveways I go for 18m2 ton at 40mm thick and 14m2 for beds over fabric at 50mm thick. If you're using bulk bags remember they only weigh 750-800kg.

cheers mark, just putting a price together. thing with gravel if you get it to thick its just as bad as not enough. its about 200m2 so your calc is about 11 ton and thats what my supplier fetchs on a 4 wheeler. but i know that 11 ton will be too much, but have less than 11 ton cost more. discisions,discisions, ha ha :p :p


thanks pablo, think the gaffer should put this up on the calcs page along with tarmac calcs.

on the drive we did last year it was 750 for 15 tonne or 880 for 20 tonnes
i went for the 20 and had 4 T left over :(
still to buy 1 t was £100
i reckon on roughly 16M to the tonne on 20mm aggregate
