Hi Fellas, do you think there would be any benefit to changing my company name to Daniel Noblett Groundworks/ D Noblett Groundworks rather than DN Groundworks?

A few people have suggested it would be better as it is more personal and people have a name to ask for etc?

What dya reckon?

I'd stick with DN Groundworks.

Did you get your website sorted?

Id stick with what you have. It isn't a big change but you would have to change your logos, paperwork, website, update details with every vendor you deal with and you have built up a name and reputation as DN groundworks.

If you are going to change then D Noblett Groundworks doesn't do it for me
I prefer Daniel Noblett Groundworks.
How difficult the change would be I dunno, I work for a big company and don't get involved in that type of thing.

Nahh the change is simple. But all and any online awareness work will be wasted and you have to start again. Other than that think of it as a new company altogether. Let the dn guys contact you like they always have but move forwrd with noblett. Ps no offence but im not liking any of the choices

i wanted to change our name a few years ago but my accountant strongly advised against it
basically you have built a brand over 15 years ,changing the name can look moody
most builders are either 3 letter acronyms like us TDF= tony dave and frank (or tour de france as i tell people)
or the persons name and what they do
e.g. walpole builders
to my mind daniel noblett groudworks is too much of a mouthfull
cheers LLL

I know it doesn't apply to you Dan but changing your business name even slightly when you run an operators licence is a right royal pain in the arse!

You can't simply amend the O Licence to reflect your new Ltd status, you need to APPLY for a NEW O Licence in its entirety! Pain in the arse!

Hmmmm. I'm an accountant, not a book keeping one but a management one.

There is some benefit to keeping the 'brand' that you've established, but your business is you and your skills - people who you've done jobs for will know your name.

I personally think that when it comes to small company services and builders, the more ownership you show the better. It gives consumers a little more security - only good for gaining business.

Digerjones thinks your name is funny.....bet he wouldn't forget it though! ;) A memorable name is pretty handy when it comes to your happy customers recommending you.

That said, if it will cause you hassle to change the name with licences and will cost you money then is it worth it? Probably not.

You can 'personalise' your business in other ways - put a photo of yourself on your website e.t.c
