to quote sir patrick moore
"We must take care," he continues in the interview. "There may be another war. The Germans will try again, given another chance. A Kraut is a Kraut is a Kraut. And the only good Kraut is a dead Kraut. There can be good, free, honourable, decent Germans. I haven't met them myself, but I'm sure they exist."

I met some german fellas in hungary, they were all right
as soon as they said "sorry about england losing",

i said "dont worry 2 world wars and a world cup will keep us going for a bit"
:;):
in all fairness Europeans are far more homogonised than us and on the whole bar the french are half decent people

I blew my motor up in france
mobile battery had gone and walked to the nearest service station
said to the woman in my best french
"escuse-moi parlez vouz anglais si vous plait?"
she grunted "non" and carried on doing her crossword
no one would help us for 2 hours till some british fella let me use his mobile
i guess like patrick says ,there must be decent friendly french folk out there
I just havent met them yet

thing is if Germany and France hadn't noised it up in the 19th and 20 century we could all be talking french or German now
all chemistry was done in German till after WW1
and obviously we gave Napoleon a good hiding at Waterloo, that finished the french
joking aside I don't know if its a curse the worlds language being English
i can speak a little Spanish and bits of Italian, french and German
but its shameful to me that so many abroad can speak 2 or even 3 languages, fluently

Tony, half of the morons we breed in this country can barely spell let alone use a second language. The education system in the UK is shite at the moment and has been for the last ten years... I could show you a pile of ebay ads with atrocious spelling mistakes.

i lived in munich for 18 months, the germans are a cracking hard working fun bunch of ppl the girls are beautiful and crazy fun, been back many times touring with bands all over europe and never found any really bad ppl not like you would on a council estate in rotheram say.....

hamburg is a great city we ended up in a rock bar/club called the green hunter last time, the barman didnt shut up till we'd had enough at 10am and then gave us a lift to our hotel :)

i do miss the weather and beer garden of munich :(

do you ever think before you type, or talk giles? What is wrong with people off council estates. You were certainly born with a silver spoon in your mouth. One of the bullingdon boys, no doubt ???

They learn from their first year of primary school. We get 4 years of a language in high school which is pointless, not going to learn anything.

Not impressed with how languages are taught either, in one month I learnt to speak better portuguese than I could french after 4 years of it in school.
