Needing new windows, frames are rotten on the ones I have and they're only single glazing. Anyone know roughly what I should expect to pay for 6 windows, double glazed, timber sash and case.

1200 x 2140
890 x 1580
1040 x 2200
480 x 2200
480 x 2200
980 x 2200

Do they have to be timber sash?

Parents have had their timber sash windows replaced with UPVC items, you would be hard pressed to spot the difference.

I thought I was in a conservation area but turns out I'm not. Conservation area ends with the house next door

What's your take on the upvc vs timber argument?

upvc sash like windows are very good now
but you will need some making good in side where the sash weights now reside.
timber does look better but it costs and you have maintenance
depends how long you want to stay there

If I can afford it I would go for timber, I know it lasts as long as you look after it and Im assuming it is much better for the environment.

Was curious if there were any benefits to upvc other than cost
